What's new in Bookmark OS

Every release, and what changed in it. Buy once — updates through v1 are included.

v1.0.0 Latest Jul 13, 2026

1.0 — Bookmark OS finds its home

  • Bookmark OS is 1.0 — after a steady run of releases, the app is stable and ready for everyday use across all your Chrome profiles.
  • New home at bookmarkos.space — the site, downloads, and in-app updates now live on their own domain. Existing installs should grab the latest version to move onto the new update channel.
v0.3.4 Jul 13, 2026

⌘W, a proper table, feedback, and reliable updates

  • ⌘W closes the window — the keyboard shortcut now works like every other Mac app, tucking the window away while keeping it running.
  • Rebuilt list — a faster, cleaner table with a pinned header and sortable columns that stay aligned as you scroll.
  • Help menu — About, Check for Updates, and Send Feedback: a quick form for a bug or idea that goes straight to the maker. Only what you type is sent — never your bookmarks.
  • Clearer, reliable updatesCheck for Updates now opens a clear dialog that shows “checking…”, an “up to date” confirmation, download progress, and a one-click restart. Restarting fully quits to apply the update, so it installs every time.
v0.3.0 Jul 12, 2026

Free & Pro, and one-click updates

  • Free & Pro — Bookmark OS is free to use, with a Pro license key that unlocks the full multi-profile experience.
  • One-click updates — new versions download in the background and install with a single click, from an in-app banner.
  • Smaller download — the app bundle is roughly half the size.
v0.2.0 Jul 11, 2026

Recent view, multi-column sort, and a calmer UI

  • Recent view — a dedicated view, plus a “Recently opened” shelf on Library, that lists links by when you last used them — from Chrome's own history and every open you make inside the app.
  • Multi-column sort — click a list header to cycle ascending → descending → off; Shift-click to add secondary sorts with a clear priority order.
  • Collapsible sidebar — Profiles, Categories, and Tags now fold away and show the top 5 with a “Show more”, so long lists stay tidy.
  • Remembers your setup — theme, grid or list, the active view, and every filter persist across relaunches.
  • Menu-bar polish — left-click opens the window, right-click for the menu, and closing tucks it to the tray while keeping its size and full-screen state.
  • Refined list — a cleaner sticky header and a plain checkmark for row selection.

The foundation

  • Reads every local Chrome profile read-only and merges identical URLs into one card that spans every profile it lives in.
  • Opens in the right profile — one click launches a link in the exact profile, with a picker when it's shared across a few.
  • Cleanup mode — flags duplicates, stale, likely-dead, and deeply buried links; archive, tag, or hide in bulk.
  • Tags, ⌘K palette, grid + list, light + dark — packaged as a notarized, distributable macOS app.
